AJGA alumnus Travis Vick clinched the title for University of Texas at the NCAA D1 Men's Golf National Championship on June 1. The Texas Longhorns defeated Arizona State 3-2 in the match play for their fourth national title at the Grayhawk Golf Club.

All five players playing the title match for Texas men's golf team are AJGA alumni, including Cole Hammer, Parker Coody, Pierceson Coody, Mason Nome and Travis Vick. Parker Coody claimed the first point for Texas with a 6-and-5 victory over Arizona State's James Leow, before Arizona State tied the match up at 3&2 over Cole Hammer.

After Pierceson Coody followed his brother Parker Coody and won another point for the Texas Longhorns, the Sun Devils fought back and tied up the match again. With all eyes on Vick, he won No. 12 with a birdie and held onto the lead. Vick closed out on No. 18 to defeat Arizona State's Cameron Sisk, 1-up, and won the national title for the Texas Longhorns.

Vick competed at a plethora of AJGA tournaments between 2012-2019. The Texas Junior was a 2018 first-team Rolex Junior All-American, and won the Junior PLAYERS Championship in 2018.
