In 2013, Cameron Young of Scarborough, New York, made only his second career AJGA appearance when he teed it up at the 35th Polo Golf Junior Classic. After finishing stroke play at 1-over-par 144, Young headed into match play as the No. 5 seed.
After battling through several matches, Young found himself in the final. The high school sophomore ultimately defeated Jorge Garcia of (Venezuela) Miami, Florida, 5 & 4 to claim his first AJGA title. This victory set Young on an immediate path to more success.
Young was extremely calm, cool and collected in his final putt. Incredible 20-footer, he followed w/a smile & tip of the hat. #PoloGolfJC

Young rode the momentum of the Polo Golf Junior Classic victory to three additional top-10 AJGA tournament finishes from 2013-2015. The Wake Forest University golf alum was also a second-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2015.

Since his time as a junior golfer, Young has found great success in college and recently on the Korn Ferry Tour, where he has two tournament victories. Those wins came on back-to-back weekends in May 2021: the AdventHealth Championship and Evans Scholars Invitational presented by First Midwest Bank. Young also competed in the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines last weekend.
The 2021 Polo Golf Junior Classic returns to Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey, after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, now in its 42nd year, is the only match play format event on the AJGA schedule. This year will feature 64 juniors, 32 boys and 32 girls, competing over four days to crown a match play champion.
