Allyn Stephens of Houston, Texas, won in the Girls 14-18 Division of the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship. Stephens stormed up the leaderboard after an impressive 7-under 65 in the second round that included five straight birdies on Nos. 10 through 14. A closing 69 helped seal the win by three strokes at 8-under 208 for the tournament. Stephens is No. 114 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and had three top-5 finishes in her 2020 AJGA season.
Brendan Valdes of Orlando, Florida, won in the Boys 14-18 Division of the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship after a two-hole playoff against Nick Dunlap. Valdes carded back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 to end the second round tied with Dunlap for the lead. After both shot 5-under 67s in the final round, they'd head to a playoff tied at 9-under 207 for the tournament. Valdes emerged victorious after two holes in the playoff. He is No. 14 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and had three top-10 AJGA finishes in the 2020 season.
Emerson Blair of West Point, Mississippi, won the Girls Elite Invitational by seven strokes after carding an even-par 210 for the tournament. After an opening 74, Blair came back with a 67 in the second round to hold the 36-hole lead. A 1-under 69 in the final round allowed her to hold on to her lead and earn the victory. The 2020 season was her first in the AJGA and she recorded a top-5 finish at the Matthew NeSmith Junior Championship.
Will Morlan of Alpharetta, Georgia, won the Boys Elite Invitational after defeating Max Green in a one-hole playoff. Morlan climbed up the leaderboard in the second round after a 5-under 65 that included four birdies and an eagle. An even-par 70 in the final round left him at 5-under 205 for the tournament. Morlan recorded top-5 finishes in three of his four AJGA starts in the 2020 season and is No. 99 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
