Braselton, GA – The American Junior Golf Association is excited to announce a new partnership with Will Lowery, one of golf’s most impactful media personalities. Lowery will partner with the AJGA to host a spring event, that will continue to bring junior golf opportunities to North Carolina. He will serve as the tournament host sponsor for the event with plans for a continued partnership in the future.

“I'm honored to partner with AJGA to host The Will Lowery Junior Championship. It's a great opportunity to share my passion for junior golf and bring visible equity to the game. Because, we can’t be what we don't see,” said Will Lowery.

Known for his signature cross-handed grip, Will’s reverse swing style and dreadlocks are shattering the perception of what a golfer should look like. Lowery is engaged in all facets of golf. He is the Creator and Host of NBC Sport’s podcast Beyond the Fairway and NBC GolfPass’ docuseries Home Course Advantage, the Tour Ambassador for Steph Curry’s Underrated Golf Tour, and a PGA TOUR host and broadcaster. He founded Crosshand Productions to use the power of culture and education to create opportunities that change the landscape of golf.

“The AJGA is really excited to have Will Lowery host an AJGA tournament for the 2023 season,” said Chief Business Officer, Jason Etzen. “This is the first time the AJGA has ever partnered with a media personality, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to grow our partnership and create more brand awareness to junior golf opportunities through all of Will’s media channels.”

The inaugural event, named the Will Lowery Junior Championship, will be held at Carolina Trace Country Club on April 14- 16, 2023, with the addition of a qualifier to be held on the 13th. The 54-hole stroke play event will host the top 12–19-year-olds from around the world. The Open tournament allows an opportunity for all AJGA members in the field to strengthen their skills and build status.

“Thank you for allowing us to host AJGA once again this year. Our members have enjoyed volunteering their time over the years and they love getting the opportunity to watch the next generation of champions compete. Both our members and our staff are excited to welcome new and old faces to Carolina Trace Country Club this year,” said Carolina Trace’s General Manager, PGA, Raymond Reyes. “We are also excited to have Will Lowery here. It is a great opportunity to have a strong impact-driven influencer during the tournament. One aspect that CTCC strives for is involving youth and I believe that Will is going to have a significant influence on the youth participation in this tournament. I also hope we get to see his cross-handed grip in live action!”
