Junior All-Star at Lost Springs presented by Visit Bentonville earns Junior All-Star of the Year award for 2015

The American Junior Golf Association has awarded the 2015 Junior All-Star at Lost Springs presented by Visit Bentonville with the Junior All-Star of the Year Award. The AJGA recognizes this tournament for its consistent ability to provide the best overall experience at an ACDS Junior All-Star Series event.

Each year, the AJGA presents awards to the tournaments with the best individual hospitality, Junior-Am fundraising tournament, charitable giving and volunteer base. Awards are also given to the events with the highest media and social media participation. Finally, the AJGA recognizes the year’s most outstanding golf professional, superintendent and general manager, as well as the most improved event, best new event, best Junior All-Star tournament, best Invitational and overall tournament of the year. Tournament awards for the 2015 season will be presented on-site at 2016 tournaments.

“We are honored to be recognized by the AJGA as the Junior All-Star event of the year,” said committee member and Visit Bentonville Executive Director Kalene Griffith. “This award definitely solidifies our commitment to youth sports in our community.”

Title sponsor Visit Bentonville annually looks forward to event at Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club. Visit Bentonville solicits and organizes local volunteers, works with restaurants and caterers for all of the food needs and negotiates with hotels to receive the best rates for AJGA families.

“Because these kids and their parents have a handful of tournaments to choose from, we want to make our event one that they want to return to,” Griffith said. “We hope that the time, energy and effort the city, golf course and volunteers put into this event shows, and by winning this award, it appears that it does.”

The tournament committee including Head Golf Professional Todd Pinneo and General Manager Lyle Leach go out of their way each year to ensure each player is enjoying themselves during the week. They recruit many volunteers that give support to participants not only in the form of shuttle rides and timing stations, but also through smiles and encouragement. It’s a true partnership between Visit Bentonville, Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club, local hotels and restaurants, and the golf club members who take the week off to volunteer.

The Junior All-Star at Lost Springs presented by Visit Bentonville returns to the 2016 AJGA schedule June 13-17, at Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club.
