15 AJGA Alumni compete in TOUR Championship

The TOUR Championship has returned to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta this weekend. The final event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs features the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup Standings. This year 15 of the competitors are AJGA alumni, seven of which host AJGA events of their own including defending champion, Jordan Spieth. Coming into the weekend, AJGA alum Dustin Johnson holds the number one spot in the FedEx Cup Standings, four other alumni sit in the top-10 including Patrick Reed (2), Spieth (7), Emiliano Grillo (9) and Jimmy Walker (10). The alumni in the field combined to win a total of 13 events and record 97 top-10 finishes during the 2016 season.

Since 2005, the East Lake Golf Club has been the home of the TOUR Championship. With the AJGA headquarters being 40 miles from the course and the tournament coinciding with the end of the AJGA season, the AJGA staff gets the chance to volunteer in the event and watch some of their favorite former members play each year.
