Applications are now open for the 2026 Liberty National ACE Grant, a key initiative of the American Junior Golf Foundation. The program helps offset the costs of competitive junior golf for young men and women pursuing collegiate golf opportunities. Since its inception in 2003, the Liberty National ACE Grant has reimbursed more than $9 million to families, supporting over 10,000 playing opportunities and contributing to more than $15.7 million in college golf scholarships.

The Liberty National ACE Grant has seen significant growth in recent years. After surpassing $1 million in annual reimbursements for the first time in 2024, the program continues to build on that momentum. As demand and impact grow, the AJGA expects the program to consistently provide more than $1 million in annual support, expanding access to competitive junior golf for future generations. Eligible expenses include AJGA membership fees, travel and housing, helping ensure financial limitations do not stand in the way of development and competition.

How it works

The Liberty National ACE Grant ensures that junior golfers from all backgrounds have the opportunity to compete. To assist families in estimating eligibility, we offer a user-friendly Liberty National ACE Grant calculator.

Once approved, families can receive reimbursements for AJGA membership, tournament and qualifier fees, as well as expenses related to travel and equipment. The program also covers costs associated with USGA junior events, PGA junior sectionals and state championship fees.

Program participants and stories

Junior golfers in the Liberty National ACE Grant program represent a diverse range of backgrounds and stages in their AJGA journey. Among its notable alumni, Maxwell Moldovan and Rose Zhang stand out as the first grant recipients to earn the prestigious Rolex Junior Player of the Year award.

The program thrives thanks to the generous support of the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour and dedicated donors who are passionate about promoting equity in golf. In 2018, AJGA alumnus and PGA TOUR player Justin Thomas endowed a Liberty National ACE Grant, providing annual financial assistance in perpetuity to a junior golfer from Kentucky.

Tye Treadwell of Omaha, Nebraska, is a fourth year recipient of the Liberty National ACE Grant. The 2027 graduate credits the program with providing him opportunities for exposure at high level tournaments as he begins the college golf recruiting process.
