Many dream of walking the fairways of Augusta National Golf Club, where history, tradition and excellence define the game. For an elite group of female amateurs, that dream becomes reality each spring at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA), one of the most prestigious events in the sport. The tournament begins at Champions Retreat Golf Club before the finalists earn the opportunity to compete on Augusta National’s storied grounds.
Since its inception in 2019, ANWA has served as a showcase for the future of women’s golf, bringing together the world’s top amateur players. Many of those competitors have developed their games through the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), and the 2026 edition continues that legacy in impressive fashion. This year’s competition features 49 current and past AJGA players, including seven active AJGA members.

* Players making their debut
For most of the current AJGA players competing this year, ANWA represents a milestone moment, with five making their championship debut. However, two familiar faces return with prior experience.
Nikki Oh of Torrance, California, is set to make her second appearance, arriving with momentum following her victory at the 2025 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, returns to the event for her third time. Currently ranked No. 1 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Talley has finished inside the top-10 in both of her previous ANWA starts, including a runner‑up finish in last year’s championship.
"I think finishing top-10 the past two years has shaped my expectations by helping me know that I can compete at such a high level. I know I can play well on all types of tough courses."
Surrounding the current juniors is a strong group of AJGA alumni who continue to shape the tournament’s competitive landscape. These players underscore the AJGA’s longstanding influence on women’s amateur golf and the pathway from junior success to the sport’s most prestigious stages.
About the 2026 field:
- 49 current and past AJGA players
- Seven current AJGA players
- 42 AJGA alumni
- 34 past AJGA champions
- 31 Rolex Junior All-Americans
- 20 PING Junior Solheim Cup alumni
- Two Rolex Junior Players of the Year
AJGA alumni have consistently found success at ANWA, with multiple champions having competed in AJGA events during their junior careers. That history, paired with the strength of this year’s field, suggests the 2026 edition will add another compelling chapter to the event's growing legacy.
