With the first round of the ANNIKA Invitational upon us, take a look at three things to know for Saturday:
- The night before the first round, the ANNIKA Invitational Junior-Am participants were treated to helicopter rides over Reunion Resort. Check out the video to see what the players saw!
- Thailand's Jaravee Boonchant enters the tournament with a chance to defend her title after winning the Invitational in 2016. Boonchant carded a final-round 65, the lowest round in the tournament's history, to earn the win. She has already signed a National Letter of Intent with Duke University and entered the tournament at No. 12 in the AJGA Rankings. She would become the second player to win the tournament twice after Bethany Wu won in 2013-14.
- The ANNIKA Invitational will again feature an international feel, highlighted by the champions of the three international ANNIKA Foundation events. Ho Yu An (ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills), Beatrice Wallin (ANNIKA Invitational Europe) and Agustina Gomez Cisterna (ANNIKA Invitational Latin America) will join Boonchant as 2016 ANNIKA Invitational champions in the field.
