The 19th Thunderbird International Junior kicked off Saturday, May 26. The event aims to provide 78 of the world's best junior golfers a memorable experience on and off the golf course. Competitors will compete over 54-holes of stroke play, in a glow-in-the-dark putting contest and closest-to-the-hole contest also known as the Dry Heave. Past tournament champions include Morgan Pressel, Yueer Cindy Feng, Ariya Jutanugarn, Ryan Moore and Brian Harman.
After 36 holes of golf, James Song of (Canada) Rancho Santa Fe, California, holds the Thunderbird International Junior lead at 5-under-par 135. In the Girls Division, Yuka Saso of Manila, Philippines, maintained her lead at Grayhawk Golf Club’s Raptor Course at 5-under-par 139.
