In 2017, the American Junior Golf Association and evian® will partner to host the evian® International & Senior Showcase, a chance for 156 international and unsigned high school seniors to play in front of college coaches.
evian®, which has provided uniquely balanced and carefully filtered mineral water since 1826, will take over title sponsorship of the AJGA Senior Showcase. The 2016 event hosted nearly 100 different men’s and women’s coaches from across the country. The event also coincides with the Golf Coaches Association of America National Convention and the Women’s Golf Coaches Association National Convention in Las Vegas. Due to its success, another Senior Showcase event was added over Presidents’ Day weekend in 2015. Historically, 60 percent of players have signed with college golf teams after these events.
In 2016, Trueman Park of Chandler, Arizona, picked up his first AJGA victory in the Senior Boys tournament and signed a letter of intent with the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, to play college golf. Jung Min Park of San Diego, California, and Branden Meyer of Gilbert, Arizona, won the International Boys & Senior Girls event and subsequently signed with Navy and South Mountain Community College, respectively.
The evian® International & Senior Showcase will take place December 8-10, 2017 at Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, with dates for 2018 and 2019 to be determined.
