Hossler takes place on national stage

After his breakthrough performance at the 2012 U.S. Open at The Olympic Club, 17-year-old Beau Hossler of Mission Viejo, Calif., was once again in the spotlight after accepting an invitation from Tiger Woods to play in his signature event, the AT&T National at Congressional. Crowds flocked to watch Hossler shoot an opening round of 71. During a press conference at the U.S. Open, Hossler explained his ascent to the national stage.

“It's a little bit different when you’ve got a huge gallery out there, but I feel really comfortable. I've had if a few times, not quite this big, obviously but a few pretty big galleries out there,” Hossler said. “But it's a whole new game once you get on the professional stage for sure.”

Hossler easily made the cut at AT&T National after finishing Friday’s second round at 3-over-par. He finished the tournament at 71-74-77-222.

No. 3 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Hossler is a two-time Rolex Junior All American. In April, he achieved his fourth career AJGA victory at the Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic hosted by Longbow Golf Club, where he set the tournament record with a 15-under-par 198. Hossler most recently finished fourth at the 2012 Thunderbird International Junior. After he completes his senior year of high school, Hossler will continue his golf career with the NCAA Championship team, the University of Texas Longhorns.
