Despite the rain delays, Ryan Moore locked up the 2016 John Deere Classic as his fifth PGA TOUR title. Moore had a two-stroke victory over Ben Martin, finishing at 22-under-par 262. Moore consistently carded 6-under-par 65 through three rounds to lead the field and posted a final-round score of 4-under-par 67, one stroke ahead of Martin.
Moore had a successful AJGA career with three wins and six top-10 finishes. In 2000 and 2001, he was named a Rolex Junior All-American. The 33-year-old hosted an event in 2015 and two events in 2016, Ryan Moore Junior Championship at Anthem and the ACDS / Ryan Moore Junior at Oakbrook.
Morgan Hoffman, who had six wins in his AJGA career, tied for third at 17-under-par 267.
Mackenzie Hughes stole the win after a birdie on his 72nd hole at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr. Pepper. Hughes posted a 24-under-par 264 tournament total to finish over Richy Werenski by one stroke. The 25-year-old moved from No. 88 to No. 14 on the Web.com Tour Money List, securing a PGA TOUR card.
Hughes placed 12th at the AJGA event Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands in 2007.
Werenski had a notable AJGA career with seven top-10 finishes, was named a 2009 Rolex Junior All-American and claimed an AJGA win at the Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands in 2007.
Other AJGA Alumni that placed in the top-five at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr.Pepper include Kevin Tway, Chris Baker and Xander Schauffele.
U.S. Senior Open
After a temporary suspension, the U.S. Senior Open concluded its final round on Monday. Gene Sauers claimed the title after making a 5-foor par putt on his 72nd hole, carding 3-under-par 277. Billy Mayfair tied for second along with Miguel Angel Jimenez at 2-under-par 278. Mayfair had a chance to tie the lead on No. 18 after Sauers and Jimenez bogeyed. Although he did not secure the win, Mayfair said he was happy with his performance.
Mayfair had nine top-10 finishes in 11 AJGA events. His finishes include second place in the 1983 AJGA Future Legends and third in the 1984 Lake Tahoe Memorial Junior.
Clariss Guce shot a 10-under-par 206 to win at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic presented by Tate & Lyle and Decatur Park District. This two-shot victory is her second Symetra Tour title in her rookie year. Her first victory was at the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic in July 2016. Also in July, Guce placed tied for ninth in the Kansas City Championship.
Guce played three AJGA events, placing 13th in the 2008 Hanmi Bank Junior Open and the 2008 CORE Realty Holdings Junior presented by Tomato Bank.
Finishing tied for fourth at 7-under-par 209 Becca Huffer and Nelly Korda, have combined to play 42 AJGA tournaments.
Huffer played in 24 events in which 12 she placed top-10.
Korda was a Rolex Junior All-American in 2013-2015. In 2015, she won the PING Invitational and the Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts.
