Texan Jansen Smith earned his second AJGA win in style on Thursday, turning a two-stroke lead after the second round into a nine-stroke victory at the Folds of Honor Junior Championship hosted by Bob Estes. Smith was already on pace for a fantastic tournament heading into the final round with the Boys Division lead and already sitting 10-under par.
But from the first hole on Thursday, it was clear he had no intention of giving up the advantage. Smith carded five birdies on the front and four more on the back on the way to a final-round 9-under-par 61. The 61 ties the lowest 18-hole score in the AJGA's history while his tournament total of 19-under-par 191 equals the lowest 54-hole score.
Not a bad round Jansen.
