On Friday, October 10, the top players from the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series will meet at the prestigious Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon for the 15th annual Junior All-Star Invitational sponsored by NIKEGOLF. The field features 48 boys and 24 girls from 17 different states and five foreign countries vying for a chance to be crowned champion.

Notable champions
Winners of the Junior All-Star Invitational sponsored by NIKEGOLF represent the best 12- to 15-year-old players in the world. Former champions like Bud Cauley, Cory Whitsett and Yueer Cindy Feng have gone on to find success and on the collegiate and professional levels.

Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Team
The 2014 Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Team was announced in early September. Ten boys and 10 girls were selected based on the Polo Golf Rankings and had to have competed in at least one Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series event in 2014 to be eligible. A Dinner of Champions will be held on Sunday, October 12 following the second round to honor the players named to the 2014 team.

In the past ten years of the event, over half of the champions were named to the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Team in the same year. Eight representatives of the 2014 team will be trying to accomplish the same thing: Alyaa Abdulghany of Newport Beach, California, Youngin Chun of Austin, Texas, Allyson Geer of Brighton, Michigan, Kaiwen Liu of San Diego, Harrison Ott of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Yujeong Son of Norman, Oklahoma, Norman Xiong of Canyon Lake, California, and Katherine Zhu of San Jose, California.

A new course
Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, home to two award-winning courses, will host the AJGA for the first time. Witch Hollow has hosted events like then Men's and Women's Amateur and the U.S. Women's Open, while tournament course Ghost Creek, has been named to America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses by Golf Digest. The facility is just minutes away from NIKE World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, the site of Sunday’s Dinner of Champions.
