Lugar racks up post-season awards

In addition to winning four tournaments and having the best scoring average in NCAA Division III, Olivia Lugar, a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis, can add receiving the PING National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) National Player of the Year and NGCA Freshman of the Year awards to her list of accomplishments.

Lugar notched eight top-10 finishes in the 2011/2012 season highlighted by a ninth place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship, a tie for first at the NCAA Tournament Preview, and racking up wins at the Pat Clouse Invitational, O’Brien National Invitational and Millikin University Fall Classic.

As a junior, Lugar finished top-10 in three of the eight AJGA tournaments she competed in between 2008 and 2011, with her best finish being fourth place in the AJGA Junior at Quad Cities. She earned the status of HP Scholastic Junior All-American in 2010 for her academic success.

AJGA alum Erynne Lee ended her freshman year by being named the NGCA Division I Freshman of the Year. The UCLA golfer recorded six top-10 finishes in her collegiate debut, and earned a victory at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in April.

Prior to her career at UCLA, Lee recorded 18 top-10 finishes in AJGA tournaments between 2005 and 2011, earning victories at the Goodman Networks Junior at Traditions in 2010 and the AJGA Junior at Wenatchee in 2008. Wagstaff finished top-10 in eight of her AJGA appearances, posting second place finishes at the Golf Pride Junior Classic and SAP Junior Open in 2007. She earned the status of HP Scholastic All-American and honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2007.
