Braselton, GA – The American Junior Golf Association is excited to announce a new partnership with NASCAR Champion Kevin Harvick and the Kevin Harvick Foundation. The Kevin Harvick Foundation will partner with the AJGA to host a summer event, bringing junior golf opportunities to the greater Bakersfield area. They will serve as the title sponsor for the annual event during the calendar years of 2023 through 2025.

“I think golf in general teaches kids so many things outside of playing golf,” said Kevin Harvick. “To be able to have an event of this magnitude and be able to put it in my hometown of Bakersfield allows me to connect the dots. The Bakersfield Country Club is somewhere that I have been as a kid and have some great friends that are involved in the club and hopefully as we go through this process allows for a great home for the tournament each and every year, for years to come.”

From Bakersfield, California, Kevin Harvick is the full-time driver of the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford in the NASCAR Cup Series. Harvick has 60 career wins at NASCAR's top level, including victories in the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400 and Southern 500. He is a two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion and has 47 career wins in that series. He also has 14 career wins in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In 2010, Kevin and his wife DeLana formed the Kevin Harvick Foundation to support programs that positively enrich the lives of children throughout the United States.

This three-year sponsorship with The Kevin Harvick Foundation will include naming rights to a summer Open event beginning in 2023. This sponsorship will contribute to the support of the AJGA’s mission and its’ dedication to the overall growth and development of young men and women through providing competitive junior golf opportunities.

“We are thrilled to have Kevin Harvick as the AJGA’s first partner in the motorsports industry,” said Chief Business Officer, Jason Etzen. “We are excited for the event this summer and look forward to this partnership bringing more junior golf opportunities to Bakersfield for years to come.”

The inaugural event, named Kevin Harvick Foundation Junior Championship, will be held at Bakersfield Country Club on August 1 –4, 2023, with the addition of a qualifier to be held on July 31st. The 54-hole stroke play event will host the top 12–19-year-olds from around the world. The Open tournament allows an opportunity for our members in the field to strengthen their skills and build status throughout the season.
