Players look forward to meeting with Yani Tseng

Golf is renowned for its role models on and off the course. The Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts is made special not only through the quality of the players and the course, but also by the strong presence of LPGA Tour professional Yani Tseng.
“Meeting Yani was a great experience last year,” 2015 first-round leader Haley Moore said. “She has made golf history and is so nice to all of the juniors. I love coming to this tournament every year.”
Yani Tseng is a 15-time winner on the LPGA Tour and was named the 2008 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year. She later went on to become the youngest player to win consecutive Rolex Player of the Year awards after winning back-to-back in 2010-11.
Tseng, a native of Taoyuan City, Taiwan, enjoyed a decorated amateur career prior to her LPGA Tour success. She was the top-ranked amateur in Taiwan from 2004-06 and won the Asia Pacific Junior Championship consecutively from 2003-05.
The former world No. 1 golfer played in the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Presented by CTBC each of the past two years. At the 2015 tournament she was joined by junior Andrea Lee. Lee received an exemption after winning the 2014 Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts.
“I saw Yani at the Swinging Skirts this year and she said hi to me,” reigning Rolex Player of the Year Lee said. “I am excited to interact with her again after meeting her last year at the Yani Tseng Invitational. I just think it’s great that she comes back to talk to all of the junior players.”
After the second round, Tseng will spend time with the 72 girls in a more casual setting. The juniors will participate in a hula-hoop contest, dizzy chip and a marshmallow long-drive contest. Last year, Tseng competed in a long-drive and closest-to-the-hole competitions. For a lot of the girls, mingling with Tseng is the highlight of the tournament.
