Braselton, GA – The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is proud to announce a new International Pathway Series event on the 2024 schedule. The inaugural event, named I Torneo Yacht & Golf Club Junior Invitational, will be the first International Pathway Series event to take place in Paraguay.
We, The Resort Yacht & Club Paraguayo and Centro de Desarrollo Deportivo CDD (Sports Development Center) are proud to be associated with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and to be able to host this tournament. We are excited to bring this opportunity to the Latin American region and to partner with the AJGA to provide a strong foundation for junior golfers to advance in their careers.
The tournament is slated to take place August 2-4 at Resort Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo in Asuncion, Paraguay. This landmark tournament aims to showcase and develop the exceptional talent across Latin America by offering junior golfers the chance to earn AJGA Performance Based Entry (PBE) status. The event will not only highlight emerging talent but also provide them with a valuable pathway to advance in their athletic and academic careers.
"We are proud to bring our International Pathway Series to Latin America," said Jason Etzen, AJGA Chief Business Officer. "Being able to partner with organizations like Resort Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo and Centro de Desarrollo Deportivo CDD allows us to execute our mission across the globe and provide more junior golf opportunities outside of the United States."
The AJGA International Pathway Series is a crucial factor for any young golfer aspiring to excel academically and athletically in their next important step as a student-athlete in American colleges. We, The Resort Yacht & Club Paraguayo and Centro de Desarrollo Deportivo CDD, are proud and honored to lead this challenge and be part of this important initiative.
The AJGA’s international membership has grown to 60 different countries and represents nearly 10% of our overall membership. The International Pathway Series is instrumental in helping juniors around the world grow and develop through competitive golf. By expanding the series to Paraguay, the AJGA continues to enhance its commitment to providing global opportunities for its members, reducing financial barriers and bringing valuable exposure closer to home.
