Schedule Spotlight: July 28-August 1

To better prepare AJGA members in the tournament application process, each week we will preview tournaments with upcoming application deadlines. The following tournament applications are now open and will close on Tuesday, June 25, at 5 p.m. ET.

The Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf will be played at Sugarloaf Mountain Resort in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, July 28 – July 31. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 96 Boys’ spots and 31 Girls’ spots.

This inaugural tournament is the second event on the AJGA schedule sponsored by Coca-Cola. The host course, Sugarloaf Mountain Resort, has been named the No. 1 golf course in Maine by Golf Digest 27 times.

The E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf will be played at Jones Creek Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., July 29 – August 1. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 53 Boys’ spots and 16 Girls’ spots.

With blooming dogwoods and azaleas, Jones Creek Golf Club brings together all of the elements that make Augusta iconic. This will be the third year the club hosts the AJGA.

The Under Armour® / Scott Stallings Championship presented by True Temper will be played at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., July 29 – August 1. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 47 Boys’ spots and 17 Girls’ spots.

Home to the PGA TOUR’s FedEx St. Jude Classic, TPC Southwind is set to host the AJGA for the sixth consecutive year. This year at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, Harris English became the 15th AJGA alumnus to take home top honors. 

The Bass Pro Shops / Payne Stewart Junior Championship will be played at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo., July 29 – August 1. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 52 Boys’ spots and 16 Girls’ spots.

This is the seventh year the Bass Pro Shops / Payne Stewart Junior Championship will take place at Rivercut Golf Course, which shares Springfield with Bass Pro Shops national headquarters. The course has been named one of Golf Digest’s “One Hundred Greatest Courses.”

The AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open will be played at Stonehenge Golf Course in Winona Lake, Ind., July 29 – August 1. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 91 Boys’ spots and 26 Girls’ spots.

The third annual AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open returns to the par-71 Stonehenge Golf Course. The course was designed in the Scottish style with waste bunkers, high grass rough and bent fairways.

The AJGA Junior Challenge will be played at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif., July 29 – August 1. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 93 Boys’ spots and 26 Girls’ spots.

This will be the 10th AJGA event held at Oak Valley Golf Club since 2007. Oak Valley Golf Club has also been home to PGA TOUR qualifying tournaments and U.S. Women’s Open Qualifiers.
