Patton Kizzire won his first event on TOUR at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico by outlasting a late charge from Rickie Fowler. His 19-under-par 265 topped Fowler by one stroke.
Kizzire, a Rolex Junior All-American in 2003 and 2004, won two tournaments with the AJGA in the early 2000s before going on to compete for Auburn University.
Fowler secured a runner-up finish the week before he will head to Jupiter Island Golf Club for an outing with the AJGA’s top charitable fundraisers through the Leadership Links program.
There’s a new No. 1 in the Rolex Rankings: Shanshan Feng. Feng won the Blue Bay LPGA in her home country of China to become the first Chinese golfer – male or female – to ascend to the top of golf’s world rankings.
Feng tapped in for par on the final hole of the tournament to edge out former Rolex Junior All-American Moriya Jutanugarn by one stroke at 9-under-par 279.
In the two weeks since Feng announced her partnership with the AJGA for the inaugural Buick Shanshan Feng Girls Invitational, she has two LPGA wins in Asia.
We're not saying it's us, but...
