The Visit Sebring Preview has been named the 2021 Preview of the Year by the American Junior Golf Association.
Each year, the AJGA presents awards to the tournaments with the best individual hospitality, Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament, charitable giving and volunteer base. Awards are also given to the events with engaged media and social media participation. Finally, the AJGA recognizes the year’s most outstanding golf professional, superintendent and golf course executive, as well as the most game-changing event, best new event, best Neuropeak Pro™ Preview Series tournament, best Ninja Junior All-Star Series tournament, best Invitational and overall tournament of the year.
In the Neuropeak Pro™ Preview of the Year category, the award highlights the community involvement and sponsorship fulfillment. The tournament host Sun 'N Lake Golf Club in Sebring, Florida, dedicated all the efforts to make the Visit Sebring Preview a successful event.
We are extremely honored to have won the 2021 Preview of the Year Award. It was a great experience for the team here at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club. The AJGA is the pinnacle association for junior golf and it certainly was a treat to work with their staff. It’s fun to be a part of junior golf in that capacity and to watch some of golf’s bright, young talent. Our membership here takes a lot of pride in assisting with the volunteer duties for the event. Being a part of that collaborative effort from everyone involved, executing a successful event, and winning an award is just tremendous for Sun ‘N Lake and the Sebring area.
Hosted at the best golf course in the Sebring area, the Visit Sebring Preview had great participation and involvement from tournament operations and volunteer contributions at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club, creating an exceptional experience and environment for AJGA staff, players and guests.
Our destination and local golf community recognize the value of providing fantastic amateur golf tournaments in order to help our golf talent grow and succeed. Thanks to a three-year event grant partnership, Visit Sebring is thrilled to be working with the AJGA to bring high-caliber, youth golf events to the Sebring area and our Citrus Golf Trail member courses. The first event in April 2021 resulted in close to $150,000 in economic impact for the Sebring area. This economic impact, and the $52,000 in visitor spending, more than paid for the first year’s partnership. We look forward to hosting future AJGA events.
The sponsor of the event, Visit Sebring, also greatly contributed to the success of the tournament. Sebring was known as the long-time home to the historic Harder Hall Ladies Invitational (now re-branded as the Citrus Golf Trail Ladies Invitational) among many golfers. To accomplish their goal of providing great opportunities for golf talents, Visit Sebring signed a three-year contract with AJGA to host the event, and successfully get Visit Sebring Preview fully funded in its first year.
The AJGA couldn’t be more excited about our partnership with Visit Sebring & Sun ‘N Lake! They both are tremendous hosts and great supporters of AJGA and junior golf. To win Preview of the Year in their first-year hosting speaks volumes to the partnership. Sebring is a racing town but they are also a golfing destination. We thank both Visit Sebring & Sun ‘N Lake for their support and look forward to going back in April, 2023.
