Williamsburg, VA - Visit Williamsburg and the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) are excited to announce a multi-year partnership that establishes Visit Williamsburg as the Title Sponsor of the Visit Williamsburg Junior Championship, an elite junior golf tournament coming to the region beginning in 2026. The agreement brings the AJGA back to Williamsburg for the first time since 2020, building on a history of successful events in the region.
The Visit Williamsburg Junior Championship will bring 78 top-ranked junior golfers from across the world to compete. The inaugural event will be held May 22–25, 2026, at Ford’s Colony Country Club — Marsh Hawk Course.
An AJGA Qualifier will be held Thursday, May 21, giving 78 additional golfers the chance to earn entry into the main field. On Friday, May 22, members of the local community will have the opportunity to participate in the Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament, an exciting chance to play alongside top junior golfers while supporting the AJGA’s charitable initiatives.
Additionally, the championship will engage the local community through volunteer roles and hospitality opportunities, showcasing Williamsburg’s longstanding connection to the sport.
“Bringing the AJGA back to Williamsburg is especially meaningful as the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary. Williamsburg’s rich history and deep sense of community make it a perfect setting to showcase the future of our game. From dedicated local volunteers to the welcoming hospitality that surrounds this event, this championship will connect our young athletes to a place that has played a foundational role in our country’s story. We’re proud to partner with Visit Williamsburg to create an experience that honors tradition while inspiring the next generation of golfers.”
As part of the partnership, Visit Williamsburg will receive enhanced visibility and integration throughout the championship, specifically through online tournament coverage on the AJGA website. Both partners will collaborate on exploring future sponsorship opportunities, with Visit Williamsburg engaging its corporate network and the AJGA highlighting the destination among its own partners.
“The American Junior Golf Association represents the future of golf, and Williamsburg is honored to play a part in their journey. Our community has a deep appreciation for the sport and for events that inspire young athletes. We can’t wait to welcome players, families and fans to experience everything that makes Williamsburg special.”
This three-year commitment highlights Williamsburg’s growing profile as a premier sports tourism destination and reinforces both organizations’ shared commitment to supporting the next generation of golfers. The partnership lays the groundwork for continued collaboration to expand competitive opportunities, increase visibility and deliver a world-class tournament experience to AJGA juniors.
The AJGA and Visit Williamsburg invite local businesses, volunteers and community partners to get involved and help enhance the charitable and community impact of the event. Opportunities are available to support the Junior-Am, volunteer during tournament week, or assist with sponsorship efforts.
