Weekend Wrap: Thompson wins first major

Lexi Thompson closed with a bogey-free 4-under-par 68 to win her first major title at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Thompson finished at 14-under-par 274 for a three-stroke victory over Michelle Wie.

A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, Thompson’s AJGA career featured four AJGA victories, including her lone Invitational win at the 2009 Polo Golf Junior Classic. She represented the East at the 2007 and 2008 Wyndham Cup, and helped the United States to victory at the 2009 PING Junior Solheim Cup. In 2007, she became the youngest player to ever qualify for a U.S. Women’s Open at 12 years, four months, and one day.
