STANFORD, Calif. – Rose Zhang of Irvine, California, won the Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational for the second-straight year after carding a 3-under-par 67 in the final round. Zhang, a Stanford University verbal commit, had no bogeys during the final round to earn the win comfortably by three strokes at 5-under-par 205 for the tournament. The No. 1 player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings now has six AJGA wins, including four Invitational wins, and is coming off a gold medal win with Team USA at last week’s Pan American Games in Peru.

“It’s extremely hard to win another Invitational, let alone back-to-back, so I’m just extremely honored and blessed to have this opportunity and get it done this year,” said Zhang.

Ho Yu An of Taipei, Taiwan, shot a low final round of 6-under-par 64 to jump up the leaderboard on the last day. Her bogey-free final round would get her to a tournament total of 2-under-par 208 and into second place. An’s previous best finish came at the 2017 Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational where she finished T3.

Catherine Park of Irvine, California, finished in third place with a tournament total of 1-under-par 209. This is Park’s fourth top-10 finish of the 2019 season.

Bailey Davis of White Plains, Maryland, Kelly Xu of Claremont, California, and Sophia Bae of Norwood, New Jersey, finished tied for fourth place at 1-over-par 211.

In the spirit of growing women’s golf, the Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational provides top girls the opportunity to compete on the west coast each summer for an exemption into the LPGA’s Swinging Skirts event. Since 2014, the event has produced a stout list of past champions: Rolex Junior Player of the Year and current World Amateur Golf Rankings No. 1 Andrea Lee (2014); three-time Rolex Junior All-American and two-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda (2015); two-time Rolex Junior All-American and 2019 Duke NCAA Championship clincher Miranda Wang (2016); four-time Rolex Junior All-American and current Symetra Tour player Yujeong Son (2017); and six-time AJGA champion and current No. 1 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings Rose Zhang (2018).
