Each week, the AJGA honors the boy and girl junior golfers who shoot the lowest round during the final tournament round.

The U.S. Women's Open is the country's national championship, and 13 AJGA members will be among the 156 players vying for top honors at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., July 6-12, 2009. Of the 13 juniors that are set to play, eight are competing at this week's Rolex Girls Junior Championship in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

BRASELTON, Ga. - Deutsche Bank Partners for Charity, as part of Deutsche Bank’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility and community involvement, will lend support to the American Junior Golf Association this summer as it sponsors a northeastern event.

The world-class El Camaleón Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, will once again host the Mayakoba Junior Golf Classic, August 17-20. This will be the AJGA’s third trip to El Camaleón Golf Club and the only international event on the AJGA schedule. Also home to the PGA TOUR’s Mayakoba Golf Classic, juniors and spectators alike can look forward to a unique experience.

BRASELTON, Ga. — The American Junior Golf Association along with the Junior Golf Association of Arizona will host an informative seminar on junior golf at the Golf Academy of America's Phoenix Campus May 26, 2009 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the seminar will be to help parents and players navigate the world of competitive local and national junior golf. Representatives from the AJGA and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona will present information about opportunities for young junior golfers.

Emily Gimpel’s first encounter with pediatric cancer came when her cousin was diagnosed with leukemia. After another young member of her country club was also diagnosed with cancer, Emily, 16, took action. With the assistance of a few close friends, she created the Junior Golf Clubs Cancer (JGCC), raising more than $30,000. Through her leadership and volunteer efforts, Emily is the recipient of this year’s Presidents’ Youth Leadership Award.

When learning of his mother’s diagnosis of colon cancer in the winter of 2007, Zach Herr didn’t know what to expect. Wanting to understand what his mother was experiencing, Zach, 14, began attending her radiation and chemotherapy sessions at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

BRASELTON, Ga. — Zach Herr of New Hope, Pa., and Emily Gimpel of Lafayette Hill, Pa., were named the 2009 Presidents’ Youth Leadership Award recipients, the United States Golf Association and American Junior Golf Association announced Thursday.
