The AJGA has implemented Operation Hydration to improve the awareness of golf’s next generation on the importance of proper nutrition and hydration before, during and after competition through education and on-site representation.

The AJGA takes the health and well-being of our members seriously. Proper hydration is the cornerstone of physical preparation for a round of golf. At each AJGA event, here is what you can expect:

  • Coolers with water throughout the golf course
  • On-site medical attendants
  • Rules officials who can provide water or other assistance if needed

All AJGA players should likewise be prepared to deal with high temperatures. Here’s a precautionary checklist to follow at all golf competitions:

  • Drink plenty of water the day prior to the event
  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Drink 20 oz. of fluids two hours before play
  • Eat a well-balanced breakfast or lunch
  • Avoid caffeine, carbonation and sugary sports drinks
  • Eat healthy snacks and fruit during play
  • Drink plenty of water during play
