After setting a course record in the second round at 10-under-par 62, Potter finished his final round with six birdies to bring his tournament total to 22.

"Last year I was consistent with a lot of top-10s and didn't get the win, "Potter said. "I'm very happy to win this week and it gives me great confidence the rest of the year and moving forward."

A two-time Rolex Junior All-American and member of the 2018 AJGA Junior All-Star team, the high school sophomore joins past champions of the event Doug Ghim, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk. Potter's name will also live in the AJGA record books alongside the lowest 54-hole tournament record which was previously set at 19-under-par.

Potter is a verbal commit to Arizona State University and No. 29 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. In his second appearance at Carlton Woods, Potter finished four strokes ahead of Joseph Pagdin (United Kingdom) of Orlando at 16-under-par 202.

Andi Xu (China) of San Diego, and Yuki Moriyama (Japan) of Las Vegas finished tied for third at 14-under-par 202. Rounding out the top 10 spots were: William Huang of Exeter, New Hampshire, Gordon Sargent of Birmingham, Alabama, Jimmy Zheng of Auckland, New Zealand, David Ford of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Benjamin James of Milford, Connecticut and Brendan Valdes of Orlando.

Potter's win at the AJGA Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods is his second AJGA Invitational win. His first was at the 2018 AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
