For five AJGA juniors, months of hard work and dedication led to a once-in-a-lifetime experience—a private visit to the home of Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and exclusive access to the final round of the Cognizant Classic. As top fundraisers in the Leadership Links program, these juniors collectively raised an incredible $76,000 for the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation, earning them this special opportunity.
It all started with a simple goal: giving back through the game they loved. Through charity golf events, personal outreach and creative initiatives, these juniors showcased values beyond the course, and their efforts did not go unnoticed.
The top five fundraisers were invited to meet two legends of the game, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, at their home in North Palm Beach, Florida. Known for legendary golf history and a deep commitment to philanthropy, the Nicklaus family warmly welcomed the juniors. They offered a tour of their home, followed by meaningful conversation about golf and life beyond the game. It was an inspiring morning, as the juniors got to share the impact giving back has had on their lives. Cole Durham, who individually raised over $17,000, was awarded a crystal bear for his achievements.
The excitement continued as the group attended the final round of the Cognizant Classic, a premier PGA TOUR event hosted at PGA National Resort. They were granted behind-the-scenes access, touring the media center, exploring tournament operations and witnessing the dedication and precision that makes the event run seamlessly. Following the tour, the juniors and their families spent the remainder of the day as tournament spectators, creating special memories for all that were on site.
The five juniors who had the opportunity to attend this experience were:
Briel Royce - $2,250
Miles Russell - $11,300
Liam Lodding - $2,166
Cole Durham - $17,720
Vasili Gianakas - $5,725
For these young leaders, the experience was more than just a reward—it was a reminder that through golf, they have the power to change lives. For more information about the Leadership Links program and incentives, visit the Leadership Links website.
