Cy Norman of Benton, Illinois, and Connor Cassano of Shreveport, Louisiana, kick off the week by leading the Boys Division of the AJGA Junior All-Star at Quail Creek presented by City of Robinson. Norman and Cassano each shot rounds of 3-under-par 69 for a strong start to what will surely be a competitive week of golf. Norman, an Illinois native, finished the day with four birdies. Shreveport shot a bogey-free round paired with three birdies.
There is a three-way tie for third in the Boys Division consisting of: Matthew Troutman of Louisville, Kentucky, Lorenzo Pinili of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Zhengfei Han of Bradenton, Florida. All three players shot rounds of 2-under-par 70.
Mimi Burton of Austin, Texas, started her week strong taking a three-shot lead in the Girls Division by shooting a round of 3-under-par 69. Burton finished the day with five birdies. The Texas native will be looking for her first AJGA win this week at Quail Creek.
In a two-way tie for second are Caroline Dasch of Austin, Texas, and Lisa Copeland of Naperville, Illinois. Both girls shot rounds of even-par 72.
