Matthew Troutman of Louisville, Kentucky, shot a tournament best round of 7-under-par 65 to take control of the leaderbaord in the Boys Division. The Louisville native started off his 2020 AJGA season strong, with a top-10 finish at the Circle K Junior Open hosted by Otter Creek in late June. Troutman will be looking for his first career AJGA victory headed into the final round at Quail Creek Country Club.
Zhengfei Han of Bradenton, Florida, carded a second round 6-under-par 66 and sits one stroke behind the leader. In third, Cy Norman of Benton, Illinois who shot consecutive rounds of 3-under-par 69 to bring himself to 6-under-par 138 for the tournament.
Mimi Burton of Austin, Texas, continues to lead the Girls Division after the second round of play. Burton shot a second round of 3-over-par 75 and maintains an even-par 144 for the tournament. Burton is playing in her second event of the 2020 AJGA season.
Three more players including two additional Texas natives round out the top of the Girls Division leaderboard. In second, Caroline Dasch of Austin, Texas, who shot a second round of 1-over-par 73. Avery Zweig of McKinney, Texas, and McKenzie Mages of Marietta, Georgia, are tied for third at 3-over-par 147.
