AJGA returns to Island Course at Innisbrook Resort

This year will mark the fourteenth year of the AJGA Junior at Innisbrook

The Island Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida, will host the AJGA Junior at Innisbrook for the fourteenth year September 4-7, 2020. The tournament will include 78 boys and girls, ages 12 to 19, from across the country competing over 54 holes of stroke play. Innisbrook Resort first welcomed the AJGA in 1978 with the American Junior Classic, and has hosted over 40 AJGA events since then. Notable past champions of the event include: Peter Uihlein, Victoria Tanco, Sierra Brooks and Joaquin Niemann.

Players to watch

Bailey Shoemaker of West Edmeston, N.Y.
Shoemaker is playing in her sixth event of the 2020 season and is coming off a strong showing of T11 at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. The University of Southern California verbal commit is the highest-ranked girl in the field at No. 19 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. She has one win at the 2018 FORE Performance Junior Championship.

Sebastian Moss of Houston, Texas
Moss is coming off his first AJGA win at the 2020 Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf presented by Junior Golf Hub earlier this month. He also played in the Southern Junior Championship in August and finished T9. The University of Louisville verbal commit is the highest-ranked boy in the field at No. 57 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Gianna Clemente of Warren, Ohio
Earlier this year Clemente became the fifth-youngest female champion in AJGA history after she notched her first victory at the 2020 Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands. In her first season playing in AJGA events, she has finished T6 or better in every start. The class of 2026 graduate is No. 31 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

John Daly II of Clearwater, Florida
Daly II is having his best season yet since starting AJGA events in 2017. In his two starts so far, he has notched a top-10 finish and a career-best, fifth-place finish at the 2020 Justin Thomas Junior Championship. Daly II is No. 158 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
