Menne and Dossey combine for 13 birdies to top their respective leaderboards

After completion of the first round at the AJGA Junior at River Crossing, Ashley Menne of Surprise, Arizona, had the low score in the Girls Division at 5-under-par 67. She had a solid six birdies on the day.

Completing the day in second was Emma McMyler of San Antonio, Texas, with a score of 2-under-par 70. Nitisha Manikandesh of Plano, Texas, and Jacee Fields of Fort Worth, Texas, round out the top three both shooting even-par 72.

Sam Dossey of Austin, Texas, leads the Boys Division. Dossey's impressive two birdies on the final two holes has him alone on top at 6-under-par 66. The 2022 graduate finished the day with seven birdies overall.

Patrick Andrew McLauchlan of Neptune Beach, Florida, and Andrew Tan of Austin, Texas, find themselves T2 and two strokes behind after shooting 4-under-par 68. Five other juniors finished day one in the top five after shooting 3-under-par 69. Zach Kingsland of Austin, Texas, Ethan Evans of Mercer Island, Washington, Christopher Park of Plano, Texas, Garrett Endicott of San Antonio, Texas, and Timothy Jung of Corona, California, complete that list.
