After completion of the first round of the Bass Pro Shops/ Payne Stewart Junior Championship, Chelsea Romas of Coppell, Texas, leads the Girls Division. Romas' six birdies put her alone atop the leaderboard. She finished the day at 5-under-par 66.
Two other players round out the top three. Katherine Schuster of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, finished the day at 4-under-par 67. Rounding out the top three was Eubin Shim of Waco, Texas, at 3-under-par 68.
Dawson Meek of Ozark, Missouri, leads the Boys Division. The 2020 graduate had an impressive showing with six birdies and an eagle to end the first round. Meek shot 7-under-par 64.
Four other players round out the top five. Pierce Grieve of Lake Forest, Illinois, Eli Ortego of Lafayette, Louisiana, Palmer McSpadden of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Michael Winslow of Overland Park, Kansas, all finished the day at 4-under-par 67 and tied for second.
