Due to weather, the Imperial Headwear Junior Classic first round was delayed and the tournament field played 36 holes on Wednesday, August 5.
After the first and second round, Jake Griffin of Kensington, Maryland, leads the Boys Division with 3-under-par 139. Griffin fired nine birdies over the 36 holes and is a verbal commit to Penn State University.
Ethan Chelf of North Potomac, Maryland, and Reed Sweigart of Roswell, Georgia, finished the 36 holes tied in second at 2-under-par 140.
Jennifer Cleary of Wilmington, Delaware, fired a 5-under-par 66 during the second round for a 36-hole score of 6-under-par 136. Cleary, a University of Virginia signee, won two AJGA tournaments in 2019.
After the first round, Sue Lee of Lorton, Virginia, led the Girls Division with 5-under-par 66. Lee carded six birdies over the first 18 holes and has four career AJGA finishes.
