Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star returns to Tanglewood Park

The Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star returns to Tanglewod Park in Clemmons, North Carolina, for the second straight year. The 54-hole stroke-play tournament will be held June 28 - July 1, 2021. The 78-player field competing for the Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star victory will be composed of a Boys and Girls Division, ages 12-15. A qualifier for the event will take place at Tanglewood Park on June 27, 2021.

Players to watch

Macy Pate of Winston Salem, North Carolina, is the top ranked Girls Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 84) playing in the tournament. Pate is looking for her first career AJGA win. At the Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star tournament last year, she finished in 3rd place. Pate also is coming off a top-10 finish at The Lanto Junior Championship earlier this season.

Sawyer Brockstedt of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, is currently No. 335 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Brockstedt will be looking for her first career AJGA win. Sawyer will also seek another top-10 victory in 2021 after her T7 finish in April at the TaylorMade TP5 Junior All-Star.

Ricardo Velasquez of Pereira, Colombia, is the top ranked Boys Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 443) playing in the tournament. Velasquez will be seeking his first AJGA victory. Ricardo is one of two players representing Colombia in this tournament.

Will Coffman of Palmetto, Georgia, is currently No. 492 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Coffman will be looking for his first career AJGA victory. His best finish came in 2020 at the Sean Foley Performance Junior All-Star where he placed second.

Qualifying Tournament
More juniors may earn entry into the Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All Star through an 18-hole qualifying tournament. The qualifying tournament is set for 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 27th at Tanglewood Park Championship Course in Clemmons, North Carolina with a field of 70 Boys and Girls Division golfers. The top-five qualifier finishers for the boys and the top-two finishers for the girls will advance into the Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star field. The full qualifier field is here.

HV3 Foundation
The vision for the HV3 Foundation is to bring awareness to the rising cost of entry and access in sports. The foundation will aim to provide financial assistance for equipment, after school programs, instruction, camps, and various other avenues where an athlete can cultivate his/her passion.
