Zimmer and An lead the Boys Division shooting a 6-under-par 66

Lim and Shim Lead the Girls Division at 6-under-par 66

JJ Zimmer of Humboldt, Tennessee, and Kevin An of Riverside, California, start the week off with an early lead in the Boys Division both shooting a 6-under-par 66. Zimmer had five birdies and one eagle. He previously finished T17 at the 2019 AJGA Preview at Greystone. An had seven birdies. He finished T8 at the 2020 GreatLIFE Junior Challenge by Sanford Health along with two other top-ten finishes in his AJGA career.

There is a five-way tie for third in the Boys Division consisting of: Jordan Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jay Nimmo of Benton, Kentucky, Michael Winslow of Overland Park, Kansas, Jack Dumas of Le Claire, Iowa, and Bryce McCracken of Trophy Club, Texas.

Over in the Girls Division Eubin Shim of Waco, Texas, and Lynn Lim of Gallentin, Tennessee, take the early lead both shooting 6-under-par 66 as well. Shim had five birdies and one eagle. She finished T4 at the 2020 Bob Estes Junior Championship. Lim had six birdies with zero bogeys on the day. She is a verbal commit to Vanderbilt University. Lim finished T5 at the 2020 D.A. Points Junior Open sponsored by Pekin Insurance/ UnityPoint Health.

Bridget Ma of Windermere, Florida, sits in third for the Girls Division after the first round at 4-under-par 68. Ma had four birdies and one eagle. Ma is an past AJGA Champion, she won the 2019 Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star.
