AJGA set to host in Greater Baltimore area

Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland, hosts the AJGA for a second year.

The UHY / The First Tee of Greater Baltimore Junior Championship will take place August 10-13 at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland. The tournament consists of a 78-player field and is a 54-hole stroke play event along with a Qualifier round.

  • 14 juniors committed to playing college golf (10 verbal, four National Letters of Intent)
  • Six juniors in the top 100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings
  • Three countries and 13 states represented (China, Mexico and United States)

Players to watch
Rylie Heflin of Avondale, Pennsylvania, (2021)
The verbal commit to Duke University comes into the tournament with five top 10 finishes in the past two years. Heflin also won the 2018 AJGA Philadelphia Junior and is currently No. 37 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Sophie Zhang-Murphy of Saratoga, California, (2022)
Zhang-Murphy is coming off a win at the Under Armour / Alison Lee Championship in July. She is ranked No. 33 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and has won two other AJGA events.

Josh Peters of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, (2021)
At No. 66 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Peters won the UHY / Celadon Junior Championship hosted by Marina Alex in July. He has three other top 10 finishes in the last two years and is committed to play golf at Duke University.

Mehrbaan Singh of Ashburn, Virginia, (2022)
Singh is No. 108 in the Rolex AJGA rankings and finished tied for second at the UHY / Celadon Junior Championship hosted by Marina Alex in July. He has three other top ten finishes in the past two years.
