Shin secures the lead in the Girls Division

Sanz gains the lead in the Boys Division

After finishing round one just two strokes back from the lead, Julie Shin of Brambleton, Virginia, finished the second round with a two-stroke lead. Shin shot an even-par 72 and carded five birdies in the round. Shin is ranked No. 87 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Sophie Zhang-Murphy of Saratoga, California, is still in contention for the lead after shooting a 4-over-par 76. Zhang-Murphy carded one birdie in the round. Paula Miranda of Puebla, Mexico, is in third place at 6-over-par 150.

In the Boys Division, Lorenzo Sanz of Glen Arm, Maryland, is in the lead at 9-under-par 135. Sanz has carded 12 birdies during the first two rounds. Sanz competed in this tournament in2019 and finished T6. He had his best career finish at the 2020 Imperial Headwear Junior Classic where he finished T10.

Joe Stover of Cockeysville, Maryland, finished the day at 4-under-par 140. He is currently five strokes back from the lead. Stover carded nine pars in a row starting on No. 6 six. Weston Jones of Sudbury, Massachusetts, is also in the hunt at 3-under-par 141.
