Carolina Trace hosts Visit Sanford Junior Open

First AJGA open event held at Carolina Trace Country Club

The Visit Sanford Junior Open will be held at Carolina Trace Country Club - Lake Course in Sanford, North Carolina, August 17-19. The 36-hole stroke-play tournament will bring 78 juniors ages 12-19 to play the course. This will be the first partnership between Visit Sanford and the AJGA.

Players to watch

Allan Kournikova of Palm Beach, Florida (2023)
Kournikova has one win at the 2019 AJGA Pinehurst Junior. He has seven top-15 AJGA finishes and is ranked No. 77 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Clay Pendergrass of Richmond, Kentucky (2023)
Pendergrass has three top-10 finishes in his first three AJGA starts. He is coming off a T9 finish at the 2020 Justin Thomas Junior Championship. He is ranked No. 109 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Caiyi (Flora) Zhang of (China) Bradenton, Florida (2023)
Zhang is coming off of an AJGA win at the 2020 UHY Detroit Junior at Forest Lake. She has finished T5 or better in all three of her AJGA starts in 2020. Zhang is ranked No. 39 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Gianna Clemente of Warren, Ohio (2026)
Clemente is a one-time AJGA champion at the 2020 Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands. She is ranked No. 51 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
