Hymer holds one-shot advantage

Tran keeps lead in Girls Division

Jackson Hymer of San Antonio, Texas, finished the second round with a score of 2-over-par 74. He holds a one-stroke lead in the Boys Division with a total of 4-under-par 140.

Starting his second round on No. 10, Hymer had a birdie to start the day. He parred the next four holes, before carding a double bogey on No. 15. Before making the turn, Hymer birdied No. 18 for the second day in a row.

Battling strong winds on the front nine, Hymer had two bogeys but ultimately hung on to his lead, looking for his first Invitational victory.

Hymer is playing in his first Invitational in his second year of AJGA events. The class of 2024 grad has one win this season at the Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star. He heads into the final round looking to hold on to his wire-to-wire lead.

Rounding out the top five in the Boys Division, Nicholas Gross of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and Will Hartman of Marvin, North Carolina, are tied for second at 3-under-par 141.

In solo-fourth place, Jaden Dumdumaya of Fairfield, California, finished at 2-under-par 142. In fifth, Eric Yun of Menlo Park, California, ended the day at 1-under-par 143.

Suzie Tran of Poulsbo, Washington, leads the AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational presented by adidas Golf after completing the round 6-over-par 78. She holds a two stroke lead with a total of even-par 144.

Tran started the day out consistent after paring Nos. 1-8 but finished the front nine with a double bogey. She then went on to have three bogeys on the back nine and a single birdie on No. 13. She leads the field by two strokes going in to the final round.

At No. 108 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Tran is playing in her second event at Pronghorn Resort, after finishing T22 at the Open event in 2020. She has one win this season at the AJGA Junior All-Star at Stanford. The class of 2024 grad is playing in her first Invitational this week.

Rounding out the top five in the Girls Division, Erica Lee of Arcadia, California, and Yufei (Nancy) Dai of (China) Lake Mary, Florida, are tied for second place at 2-over-par 146.

Summer Lee of Plano, Texas, and Larissa Carrillo of Saltillo, Mexico, are knotted up in fourth place at 4-over-par 148.

The final round tees off Monday at 9:30 a.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees.
