The UCF commit finished the round with five birdies, including three on the back nine. He sits at 5-under-par 139 for the tournament. Tate will be seeking his first AJGA victory after three career top-10 finishes as he tees off in the final round at 9:30 a.m. on July 29, 2021.
Nicholas Prieto of Miami, is behind Tate at 1-under-par 143 after recording two birdies on the round. With three top-10 finishes in just four career AJGA events, the 2023 graduate is in search of his first AJGA victory.
Trey Mixon of Macon, Georgia; Ian Meyer of Deephaven, Minnesota; Rylan Shim of Centreville, Virginia, and Thomas Henderson of St. Simons Island, Georgia, are T3 at 2-over-par 146.
Mixon, a Mercer University signee, is seeking his second AJGA victory in his final summer of playing AJGA events. Meyer, a University of Iowa signee, has one top-five finish already in his AJGA career and is seeking another this year at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Junior honoring Jim Bell.
Shim finished the second round at even-par 72 and owns three top-five finishes in AJGA tournaments. Henderson had three birdies on the round, including back-to-back on Nos. 14 & No. 15. Henderson is committed to the College of Coastal Georgia.
Thitaporn Saithip of Bradenton, Florida, holds sole possession of first in the Girls Division at 3-under-par 141. After recording four birdies, the Oklahoma State University commit shot a low round of 2-under-par 70. Saithip will be seeking her second AJGA victory in just five weeks. The No. 102 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings will be teeing off at 8:00 am tomorrow July 29, 2021.
Alexandra Gazzoli of Palm Coast, Florida, and Bridget Ma of Windermere, Florida, are T2 at even-par 144. Gazzoli finished the second round with four birdies is No. 101 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Ma is No. 60 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and seeking back-to-back AJGA victories heading into the final round.
