Brown surges ahead

Samuels takes lead in Boys Division

Macie Brown of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, jumps ahead and leads the Girls Division by three strokes with a score of 9-under-par 133. She had a bogey-free front nine in the round that started with an eagle on No. 1. Brown was the 2020 Champion of the Kentucky Girls Junior PGA Championship.

In second with a score of 6-under-par 136 is Julia Misemer of Overland Park, Kansas. Misemer has nine birdies and one eagle in the tournament. Lynn Lim of Gallatin, Tennessee, is in third with a score of 2-under-par 140. Lim birdied Nos. 10 & 14 each round.

Patton Samuels of Clarksville, Tennessee, rose to the top of the leaderboard with a score of 7-under-par 135. The rising senior has 13 birdies on the tournament and leads by one stroke. He has improved greatly since his last appearance in the Justin Thomas Junior Championship in 2020, where he finished T27.

Matthew Troutman of Louisville, Kentucky, Nolan Haynes of Barberton, Ohio, and Brockton English of Shelby Township, Michigan, share second with a score of 6-under-par 136. Troutman and Haynes both birdied the fifth and ninth holes. English had six birdies on the round.

Hayes Mason of Campbellsville, Kentucky, is solo fifth with a score of 5-under-par 137. Mason is committed to play college golf at Midway College in the fall.
