SAVANNAH, Georgia – The Sam Burns Classic visits The Landings Club for its first ever AJGA event. The 54-hole stroke-play tournament will be held July 19 - 22, 2021. The 78-player field competing for the Sam Burns Classic victory will be composed of a Boys and Girls Division, ages 12-19. A qualifier for the event will be held at Southbridge Savannah Golf Club July 18, 2021.

Players to watch
Kennedy Campbell of Green Cove Springs, Florida, is the top ranked Boys Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 112) playing in the tournament. Campbell is seeking his first career AJGA victory. The 2022 graduate is currently committed to continue his golf career at the University of South Florida.
Jack Usner of The Woodlands, Texas is currently ranked No. 125 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. After a top-5 finish at the PING Heather Farr Classic, the 2020 Rolex All-American will be seeking his first victory of the 2021 season.
Thienna Huynh of Lilburn, Georgia, is the top ranked Girls Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 120) playing in the tournament. After five top-5 finishes in 2020, including a victory at the AJGA Junior at Oldfield, the 2022 graduate will be seeking her first AJGA victory of the 2021 season.
Kate Song of Alpharetta, Georgia, is currently ranked No. 124 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. The Rolex Junior All-American will be seeking her first AJGA victory of the 2021 season after finishing in the top-ten at the AJGA Junior at Canebrake Club (6th) and the AJGA Carolina Trace Junior (3rd). The 2021 graduate has signed a letter of intent with Mercer University.
Qualifying Tournament
More juniors may earn entry into the Sam Burns Classic at The Landings Club through an 18-hole qualifying tournament. The qualifying tournament is set for 8:00 a.m on Sunday, July 18th at Southbridge Savannah Golf Club with a field of 78 Boys and Girls Division golfers. The top-seven qualifier finishers for the boys and the top-two finishers for the girls will advance into the Sam Burns Classic at The Landings Club tournament field. The full qualifier field is here

Korn Ferry Tour Exemption
The male division winner of the Sam Burns Classic at The Landings Club, will receive an exemption into the fifth playing of the official Korn Ferry Tour event the week of March 28 – April 3, 2022, in Savannah, Georgia.
Sam Burns
Sam Burns, 24, was the Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 2014. His junior golf career included two Invitational victories and three years of Rolex Junior All-America honors. The Louisiana native went on to play college golf at Louisiana State University before turning professional in 2017. Burns broke through on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2018 with his win at The Landings Club and recorded his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2021 Valspar Championship.
