He birdied No. 12 and followed up with an eagle on No. 13 to pull ahead and claim the top spot. He parred the remaining holes to hold a one-shot lead.
J. Holland Humphries of Austin, Texas, sits in second. His five birdies on the day puts him one behind Sosa at 3-under-par 139 going into the final round. Also following close behind is Matthew Spaulding of Spring, Texas, at 1-under-par 141.
Avery Zweig of McKinney, Texas, and Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang of Plano, Texas, lead the Girls Division. Zhang had two birdies and an eagle, while Zweig had four birdies on the day. They head into the final round at 2-over-par 146.
Other girls to watch are Lydia Swan of North East, Pennsylvania, and Antonia Matte of Santiago, Chile, who are tied for third at 3-over-par 147.
