Claire Lu of Edison, New Jersey, leads the Girls Division after the fist round of the UHY Albany Junior at 2-under-par 68. Lu had two birdies on the round and has eleven top-20 finishes in AJGA events.
In second place at 1-under-par-69 is Gianna Clemente of Warren, Ohio. Clemente had two birdies on the round. Last week, she won the 2021 AJGA Junior at Big Sky, and is No. 46 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
Vanessa Zhang of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Jiayi Wang of Shanghai, China, are tied for third at even-par 70. Zhang had two birdies and one eagle on the round and Wang had three birdies.
Bradley Sawka of Ellington, Connecticut, Neil Parasher of Albuquerque, New Mexico, JB Knight of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Griffin Barke of Crestwood, Kentucky, are tied for the
lead of the Boys Division at 3-under-par 67. Sawka had four birdies on the round, Parasher had six, Knight had five, and Barke had five.
Sawka has four top-20 finishes in AJGA events and Parasher has three top-20 finishes. Knight has three non-AJGA tournament wins and Barke has two top-20 finishes in AJGA events.
