Liu holds her own

Simpson leads the way for the Boys Division

Michelle Liu of (Canada) Vancouver, British Columbia, leads the Girls Division by five strokes with a score of 5-under-par 67. Liu had a bogey-free front nine including six birdies. In March 2021, she was named the champion of the Humber College PGM CJGA Western Canadian Junior Championship.

Nicole Johnson of Edwardsville, Illinois, Jenni Roller of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Riley Lewis of Edwardsville, Illinois, tie for second with scores of even-par 72. Johnson qualified into the tournament as the only girl to finish even-par. Roller had a bogey-less back nine with a birdie on No.10. Lewis made par on each hole on the front accompanied by birdies on Nos. 2 and 5.

Will Simpson of Pella, Iowa, leads the Boys Division with a score of 5-under-par 67. With seven birdies, Simpson held the lead position for the entire round. He has finished within the top-10 in each of his 2021 tournaments.

In second place with a score of 4-under-par 68 is Ryan Walsh of Chesterfield, Missouri. This is his first tournament of 2021.

Jake Lawson of Cartersville, Georgia, is solo third with a score of 2-under-par 70. Lawson tied for fifth in the 2021 AJGA Preview presented by Visit Sevierville/ Tennessee Tourism.

Tied for fourth with a score of 1-under-par 71 are Andrew Tan of Austin, Texas, John Guerra of St. Louis, Missouri, and River Stilley of Benton, Illinois. Tan had three birdies while Guerra and Tilley had five.
