Final Results

The reigning champions claimed the 31st Wyndham Cup in dominating fashion, earning a total of 13.5 of the 20 points available in singles for a final score of 29.5-20.5 over the West. The East last earned consecutive Wyndham Cup victories in 2012.

Since 1990, the Wyndham Cup has brought together 40 of the country’s top junior golfers (20 males and 20 females) in an East versus West team match play tournament. In addition to featuring some of the world’s best junior golfers annually, the Wyndham Cup is known for its iconic host venues. Bulls Bay Golf Club joins a list that features Old Sandwich Golf Club, Mayacama Golf Club, The Stanwich Club, and Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge.

Gordon Sargent of Birmingham, Alabama, got the East off to a great start thanks to his massive 6 & 5 victory over Mason Snyder of Las Vegas. That secured the first point of the day and opened the floodgates for the East.

From there, the reigning champions didn't look back. The East won a total of 12 matches (split evenly with the boys and girls claiming six points each), and earned ties in three others.

Of the six players who entered the final day of competition at 3-0-0, only Casey Weidenfeld of Pembroke Pines, Florida, David Ford of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Amanda Sambach of Charlotte, North Carolina, ended the week perfect.

Weidenfeld won 4 & 3 over Avery Zweig of McKinney, Texas, while Ford won his match 3 & 1 over J. Holland Humphries of Austin, Texas. Sambach claimed the Cup for the East with her 4 & 3 win over Anna Davis of Spring Valley, California.
