Summerlin wins first AJGA tournament at #JackBurkeJr

Smith Summerlin earns low round along with setting tournament record.

Houston, Texas- Smith Summerlin of Raleigh, N.C. lead in round one and saw the victory of Jack Burke Jr. Invitational in the final round.

The 2026 graduate secured the title at Champions Golf Club, finishing the 54-hole tournament at 12-under-par 201.

Summerlin started the round with birdies on Nos. 3, 5, 6 and 9 with a 3-under-par 33 on the front nine. With a birdie on No. 9, he went into the back nine with confidence with birdies on Nos. 11, 12, 13, 15 and 18, ending the round strong. Summerlin also had the low round of the day at 8-under-par 63.

This is definetly a good way to go into next season, maybe open up some doors for some bigger tournaments to play in, so I'm feeling good.

Summerlin finished the tournament with rounds of 66-72-63 for a total of 12-under-par 201. Summerlin is currently ranked No. 94 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Ethan Gao of Alpharetta, GA., started the round with two birdies on Nos. 1 and 9 with an eagle on No. 5. Gao finished the back at even par ending the round at 3-under-par 68. The Stanford University commit finished the tournament at 7-under-par 206 to secure solo second.

Nicholas Prieto of Miami, Fla., came in third at 5-under-par 208.

Carson Kim of Yorba Linda, Calif. came in fourth at 2-under-par 211.

Four players shared the fifth place spot, Nicolas Dominguez Alvarez of (Mexico) Wintergarden, Fla., Jay Leng Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Jaeyoung (Jeffery) Kwak of (South Korea) La Mirada, Calif. and Camden Smith of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., at 1-under-par 212.

Two players finished tied for ninth, Boston Bracken of Saint George, Utah and Connor Williams of Escondido, Calif., at even par 213.
