The American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Girls Junior Championship was named Invitational of the Year for the 2021 season.

Each year, the AJGA recognizes top tournaments, committees, and individuals who produce outstanding work during the previous AJGA season in 15 categories. Awards distinguish the effort of local supporters who make each quality tournament experience possible.

The Invitational of the Year is selected based on the overall tournament experience including elements of hospitality, volunteers, sponsor involvement, community impact, social and traditional media, and overall excellence among AJGA Invitational events.

An iconic all-girls event, the Rolex Girls Junior Championship has occurred annually since 1992 - changing host venues each year. Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, served as the host facility in 2021. Established in 1991, the course is accustomed to hosting top-level events. Robert Trent Jones Golf Club will host the 2024 Solheim Cup and served as the host for the first four Presidents Cups in the United States.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Club treated juniors and their families to an unforgettable experience, bringing together one of the strongest fields in junior golf. This award reflects the dedication the tournament committee, golf course staff and members of the club display continuing to give back to charity and junior golf and host high caliber events.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Club is proud to have partnered with the AJGA to host the 2021 Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Women’s golf has made many strides in recent years, and it was amazing to help support junior women golfers. The membership at RTJGC rallied together to fill out the Monday Junior-Am portion of the event and were excited to follow the girls through the remainder of the tournament. These junior golfers are the future of women’s golf, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in their sport.

In addition to being a top-level host facility, Robert Trent Jones Golf Club and the Rolex Girls Junior Championship provided caddies in the Junior-Am, meals, an upgraded gift package, assisted with housing, and fundraising support. Staff and local membership helped raise additional proceeds to benefit the AJGA’s ACE Grant and RTJGC Charitable Foundation. The RTJGC Charitable Foundation supports local charities in the Washington, D.C. area and provides scholarships to some staff members.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Club is a world class venue with unmatched history in hosting marquee events. We recognize they have many opportunities to host championship events and we appreciate them providing our top female athletes with an unforgettable experience. The golf course was in pristine condition, the food and beverage service throughout the week was phenomenal and the host facility staff was so welcoming to participants, families, NCAA college coaches and AJGA staff.
